Why You Should Upgrade to LED Lights

At LedEquipped, we’re proud to serve a variety of customers – from those with older emergency vehicles to those with newer ones whose lights you need to supplement. Our LED emergency vehicle lights come in a huge variety of options, perfect for whatever service you and your department provide.

There are several reasons why you might want to upgrade to high-quality LED lights. Let’s look at a few of the biggest ones.

Safety

The primary reason for emergency lights in the first place is improved safety, both for you as a responder and for other motorists. Emergency lights can’t properly complete their purpose of warning other drivers that you’re moving quickly if they aren’t bright enough to be seen in certain conditions, as is the case for some older lights.

With LED lights, though, a clear and easily visible light is produced. It easily outshines traditional bulb types, and makes signals more recognizable in all conditions.

Energy Efficiency

Not only are LED lights clearer and more powerful, they’re far more energy efficient. Instead of using electricity to heat a filament like a normal bulb, Led lights use a process called electroluminescence, which is much more direct. You’ll save energy on your car battery and alternator, meaning you can use this extra electricity for other upgrades if needed. In addition, LED bulbs are non-toxic and highly recyclable, meaning they have a far lesser negative impact on the environment.

Durability

LED lights are constructed with very few internal parts, and because they don’t use bulbs, they can’t “burn out.” They function very well in cold temperatures, requiring no warm-up time and possessing great resistance to cracking or temperature wear. They’re designed in a minimalist style, which makes them resistant to damage from jostling or minor impact. They’re designed in all ways to last longer than traditional bulbs, making them very cost-effective.

Clear Color

The method by which LEDs create light results in a “pure” color of light. LEDs have no colored plastic or encasements, and therefore they produce a light that appears less faded and is easier to see.
